Rocks, Fossils and Minerals - Oh My!
This years theme was Crystals. There were many crystal forms from a wide
variety of material to see.
Many displays with crystals, beautiful agates, and thunder eggs from club
member and collectors. Marshfield High School students displayed jewelry and
spoons that they had made in there metal arts class. These pieces were
designed and created by the students. Elementary students had displays about
earth science. Thank you, they all were wonderful.
There were many guess and plenty of things to see and do. There were club members
that gave wonderful Demonstrations in the lapidary arts. Dave Marshal gave a
Demonstrations on Faceting. Don Kelman gave a Demonstration on cutting rough, and
Sandy Brandl gave Demonstrations on Wire Wrapping. Thank You, for a job well done.
There were also kids activities. Kids and adults participated in digging crystals out of
clay direct from Mt Ida, Arkansas. Also a diamond dig, and a kids dig for agates and
jaspers. With lots of treasures to be had by all.
